Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year at The Academy at Nola Dunn!
We would first like to share that every family at The Academy is a member of our PTO! This is exciting as we know that working together, not only strengthens our school, but also our children’s education. Throughout the school year, our organization will host numerous events. These events may serve the staff, student body, and parents.
We have two entities that strive to build relationships with our Academy families: Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and Parent Involvement Committee (PIC). So what is the difference between PTO and PIC? PTO’s focus is to enrich our student’s education and school culture by holding fundraisers. Our two big fundraisers every school year help us purchase school needs and supplemental educational material, fund a portion of field trips, and provide teachers with continued education through faculty trainings. PIC is geared towards helping our families find volunteer opportunities so they can easily meet their required 10 hours of volunteer work. They plan our school wide events like Veteran’s Day, Grandparents Day, and Cultural Day. PIC is under the PTO umbrella, but both work hand in hand to ensure our Academy families have an amazing experience during their time here. Most importantly it takes you, the members, for us to be successful in what we do.
