HMS Frequently Asked Questions
-
Can I come eat lunch with my student, or can I bring them lunch?
Yes, you are allowed to bring your child lunch. The front office will have you write your childs name on it and then will set it on a table outside the front office, and they can come check for it prior to going to lunch. If you would like to come eat lunch on campus with your child you may also do that. Please bring your DL and sign in at the front office, and we have a designated area for students to eat with their parents. However, you are only allowed to bring food for you and your child.

What do I do if I have a question about before and after school buses?
For all bus related questions please call Goldstar @ 817-245-1180.
-
What do I need to do if my student has a doctor's appointment?
Please send a copy of the doctor's note to our attendance clerk at alisha.todd@bisdmail.net or you may bring it in person.
-
What do I need to do if I need to change the mode of transportation by which my student goes home?
In middle school we no longer need to know how your student plans to go home because your student is now more responsible. However, if you need to change the way your student is traveling home in the middle of the day, and need to communicate with them then you may contact the front office at 817-245-0600.

Where will students wait while waiting for car pick up?
HMS is implementing the same program this year where all students
will remain in their classrooms while they wait for the bus or pick
up driver to arrive.- Parents will be supplied with a card with a bar code to display in their car. Just before the end of the day, scanners will be used to identify students whose ride has arrived. The names will be displayed on a screen in each teacher room. When dismissed, students will travel to the same pick up area where they were dropped off.
- Bus numbers will also be displayed on the classroom screen for teachers to use to dismiss students to the bus area. Students will then walk directly to their bus and load.
